Dr. Skari attended Jamestown College and graduated with a bachelor of arts in psychology and addiction counseling. Following graduation he trained for one year at the North Dakota State Hospital doing an addiction counseling practicum through the James River Training Program. He worked as a licensed addiction counselor for one year in Fort Totten providing day treatment programming and then took employment in Minot, ND at Trinity Hospital supervising a inpatient treatment program for approximately four years. While working in Minot as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), he completed a Pre-Medical degree at Minot State University. From 2002 to 2003 Dr. Skari and a partner opened a solution focused treatment center in Cando, ND. It is currently the largest partial hospitalization with residential component in the state of North Dakota with 25 beds. The Center utilizes an alternative treatment philosophy focusing on clients strengths and cognitive behavioral restructuring.
Trained in family medicine, Dr. Skari is educated in all major areas of medicine. He is qualified to care for most of the health care needs of the entire family, from infants to the elderly. For those times when more specialized care is necessary, he will coordinate your care and advise you on the most appropriate treatment.
