Ethan Foster, MD

Experience & Research

Dr. Foster practices general radiation oncology, including his focus on breast and prostate cancer. He has attended the Seattle Prostate Institute on an award fellowship and attended the American Brachytherapy Society Breast Brachytherapy School. He has received specialty training in genitourinary malignancies at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, UK, as well as pediatric radiation oncology training at St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Dr Foster has published original research on radiation oncology, radiation physics, and immunology. He has presented research nationally at specialty conferences, and has been an invited guest speaker regionally to discuss radiation oncology and cancer treatment.

Idea of Care

My philosophy of patient care is to employ the most up to date clinical medicine and technology to provide the best outcomes for my patients. Whenever possible, this outcome is to cure patients of their cancer; when a cure is not possible, I focus this outcome on palliation for the highest quality of life. Each patient is an individual, and I see my patients as partners in each step of the process, from determining goals of care, to receiving their treatment, to long term follow up.

Personal Interests

Outside of medicine Dr. Foster is an avid musician and pianist. After completing undergraduate work in biology, piano performance, and music composition, he worked as a professional musician, teacher, and music director before attending medical school. He also is an active participant in amateur sports, particularly tennis and hockey.
